Contribution to SDGs

The City of Kitakyushu, where our company is located, is particularly committed to the SDGs among local governments. In April 2018, the OECD selected Kitakyushu as a Global Model City for promoting the SDGs for the first time in the Asian region. In June of the same year, the government selected the city as an SDGs Future City and for the Municipal SDGs Model Project. In August of the same year, the mayor of Kitakyushu was appointed chair of the national Public-Private Partnership Platform for Regional Development SDGs. Since then, Kitakyushu has launched the Kitakyushu SDGs Club and is actively engaged in other activities to become an advanced SDGs city.
In addition to joining the club, we have selected eight of the 17 goals relevant to our company. We are reviewing our overall corporate activities from the SDGs’ perspective to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.
